The Greening of 21st Century City Plan
The Greening of 21st Century City of Los Angeles introduces a range of urban design innovations within the public rights-of-way based upon five overarching principles:

• Create a better Pedestrian Environment and Experience for Century City of Los Angeles
• Enhance Connectivity between Pedestrian and Transit
• Create a more Beautiful Public Realm within Century City
• Develop an Updated Identify for what 21st Century City can be
• Develop a more Sustainable Century City

The project, initiated by Councilmember Jack Weiss, engaged several property owners and the services of urban design consultants to explore the opportunities within the streets for a more lively, environmentally conscious and transit-based Neighborhood District known for existing high rise and emerging residential developments.
Forecast for calendar year 2008 will be a closer evaluation of how to implement the Principles working with both urban designers, key City staff and resident stakeholders. The Project focuses on good urban design within the rights-of-way.
